Children’s corner

frogWelcome to our children’s corner”

You’ll find lots here about the plants and wildlife at our village pond in Biddenham. We’re very lucky still have a village pond: it’s one of the few remaining village ponds in Bedfordshire. There’s also some interesting facts about dovecotes and details of the dovecote that once stood next to our village pond in Biddenham.

There are special pages about our two rare species – the great crested newt, which is protected under the law, and the midwife toad.

Have a browse through our Did you know? section: you might find some things that surprise and maybe even amaze you!

And you can discover too just what is a pond and some myths about them.

There’s a plan of our village pond and photos in the gallery.

Good hunting, enjoy your visit to our website, and enjoy the pond and all its creatures. And we’d love to hear what you’ve spotted when you’ve visited the pond, and your ideas for how to look after the pond and its wildlife – you can leave a comment below.
