Moorhens appear for the 30th

A family of seven ducklings appeared in May but quickly disappeared: we fear the worst. Now four, or it could be more, they’re very shy, little baby moorhens are happily paddling around the pond.

We hope they will fare better than the ducklings and will be enjoying the pond on Sunday, 12 June when we will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the start of the pond restoration project at our Summer Splash Out in the Church Barn at 3.30 pm, with an anniversary cake and fizz. We’d love to see you there helping us toast the pond’s 30th and also the Queen’s official 90th: two big events on one day!
