Eight volunteers arrived at the pond and braved the awful weather this morning to tidy up the pond site for the Summer. They concentrated their efforts in the triangle and in the north west corner beyond the pond.
Scrub and brambles were cleared and ivy removed from the stone walls and tree trunks, leaving the site looking all the better for their hard work. A big thank you to them all and to the Manor Hospital for the very welcome refreshments.
Their only regret? It was too wet for the traditional Spring bonfire. That will have to wait for another day. But they made up for it at the end of the morning with a walk up and down the Coffin Path to make their mark as part of the village’s effort to ensure its restoration.
