Thank you to all the eight volunteers who worked so hard at the pond on Saturday, 28 March and to the Manor Hospital for the welcome refreshments.
The site was generally tidied up and, the weather being kind to us, the traditional Spring bonfire removed much of the accumulated debris.
During the Winter the roots holding firm a hawthorn tree to the north of the pond sadly gave up on life and the tree fell over into the pond. The volunteers braced themselves and managed to clear it from the pond before it became embedded and too difficult to shift.
So all in all, the pond site is entering the Summer in good order. Although the ducks seemed mightily unimpressed by all the hard work going on around them!
