Now reed on

A second session of reed removal today, a lovely sunny February day, by our intrepid wader before the great crested newt ‘close season’. The reeds taken out to prevent excessive encroachment over the pond were stacked initially by the edge of the pond to give time for the little beasties in the muddy roots to creep back into the pond.
