Warm Spring sunshine, lambs cavorting in the field beyond, a great team of volunteers: what more could we ask for at a most successful Spring work morning.
Much was achieved: ivy and brambles were cleared, the path improved, a wonky stump removed opening up the view of the pond on the approach from Gold Lane, and the programme of managed coppicing continued, leaving the site looking the better for it all. And, of course, what would a Spring work morning be without a bonfire!
Thank you to all the volunteers and to the Manor Hospital for the welcome refreshments.
And later in the evening, the sun set on the scene of all that hard work and on the flock in the field beyond.
