Autumn work morning

Unusually for a pond work morning it rained, but spirits not dampened by the weather our team of 10 hard working volunteers achieved a tremendous amount, trimming, lopping and tidying at the Autumn work morning on Saturday, 9 November to prepare the pond for the winter.

Our intrepid wader spent the morning removing unwanted reed growth from the pond; and in removing shrubby growth from the north western corner beyond the pond we have exposed and made visible the stone wall that leads towards the site of the former and much missed dovecote.

Thank you to the great team of volunteers and to the Manor Hospital for providing them with welcome refreshments to keep them going!
